Local volunteers from Denny and Dunipace got busy on Saturday 26 March 2011 to clear litter from the banks of the river Carron, Stirlingshire, Scotland.
Dave, from Wallace Services, lent a hand to prune overhanging branches and fallen trees that were causing problems for anglers.
Also armed with chainsaw (a rather long one), was Tony Harris, of River Carron Fisheries Management Group, who organised the event with the help of Christine Bell from Communities Along the Carron Association — ‘CATCA’ is a group of local volunteers committed to the regeneration of the River Carron, its communities and adjacent land.
This was the second river Carron cleanup of 2011. The first one was a few weeks earlier at Larbert Viaduct and you can watch Tony’s video here. |
