Kyleakin lies directly across Loch Alsh from Kyle of Lochalsh and this was the route of the ferry prior to the opening of the Skye Bridge.

The Atlantis is a glass bottomed boat that makes regular excursions in the area. You can book your ticket at the Kyle of Lochalsh Tourist Information Centre.

The Gavin Maxwell Museum is on Eilean Ban (White Island) right next to the bridge. When travelling toward Skye, you can park your car on the bridge at a grassy verge next to the gate to the museum. Enquiries and information at the Bright Water Visitor Centre at Kyleakin Harbour.

You might want to take a trip up to the view point above Kyle of Lochalsh but the view from the top of the bridge is probably better — you just can’t see the bridge from the bridge.

The video also shows snippets of the lifeboat station and Castle Moil, the site of Dun Hakkon Broch and its Viking Princess, Saucy Mary whose final resting place is on the Hill of the Old Woman behind Broadford Bay.
